Vom Schneidebrett zur Nahrungszubereitung über die hygienischen Anforderungen an Paletten bis zu Holz als Verpackungsmaterial - das ist die Themenwelt, die eine neue Internetseite von Nordic Timber Council, Stockholm, in den Fokus nimmt.

www.wood-food.com unterstützt die Bemühungen der nordischen Holzpromotion-Gesellschaft NTC, dem natürlichen Werkstoff Holz in der Nahrungsmittelindustrie international die Bedeutung zu geben, die ihm nach seinen hervorragenden Hygiene-Eigenschaften zukommen. Dieses neue Internetportal ist ein Teil der Aktivitäten des Projektes "Transport&Packaging". Projektleiterin Gunilla Beyer: "Unser Ziel ist es, ein internationales europäisches Netzwerk zum Thema Holz und Nahrungsmittel aufzubauen. Dafür sehen wir diesen Internetauftritt als ein wichtiges Werkzeug an, das bei der Kommunikation untereinander und beim Sammeln und Zugänglichmachen von Informationen eine große Rolle spielen soll."

So ist die Webseite www.wood-food.com, die sich im Aufbau befindet, zugleich sauch eine Einladung an alle interessierten Kreise in Europa, sich diesem Netzwerk rund um Holz für Verpackung und Anwendungen in der Nahrungsmittelindustrie anzuschließen.

Natures own material wood plays a major role, when it comes to transport, packaging or preparation of food. Fruits and vegetables come to us in wooden boxes. Wooden cutting boards are in use in private kitchens as well as in restaurants. And also the pallets for food-transports have to meet high hygienic demands. "Wood and Food" - that's what the new internet-site of Nordic Timber Council, Stockholm, has in focus.

www.wood-food.com is the address for the intense communication, which now is build up to support the efforts of Nordic Timber Council, Stockholm, in promoting the advantages of the material wood for handling and protecting food.

This new internet site is an integral part of the activities within the NTC-project "Transport&Packaging". Gunilla Beyer, project leader: "We want to establish an international platform and a network around all questions regarding the use and the economical, ecological and hygienic advantages of wood in this field. We regard our new website as an essential tool for communicating, collecting and spreading all available information."

www.wood-food.com started just now - and it is meant as an invitation to all interested people, organisations or companies in Europe to join - to form a real network and base of knowledge around all relevant questions and R&D-results concerning the use of wood for packaging and in the food industry.
